Notice on Updating Personal Identification Documents

Pursuant to Citizenship Law No. 26/2023/QH15, ratified by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on November 27, 2023, and effective from July 1, 2024, as well as Circular No. 17/2024/TT-NHNN governing the opening and utilization of payment accounts at payment service providers,

OceanBank hereby formally notifies customers of the following:

- From October 1, 2024 onwards: Vietnamese people are not allowed to use passports to open and use accounts.
- From January 1, 2025 onwards: Identification cards (including both the 9-digit and 12-digit formats) will be no longer valid.

In order to prevent any disruptions to your transactions with OceanBank, we kindly advise you to take the following actions:

- For Vietnamese customers currently using passports to open or operate bank accounts: Please update and submit your new identification documents (Citizen Identity Card/ID Card) to OceanBank no later than October 1, 2024.
- For customers currently using old version identification cards for transactions at OceanBank: Please update and submit your new identification documents before January 1, 2025.
- Check your ID card expiry date and ensure timely submission of valid identification documents to OceanBank.to update if they expire.

You can submit your identification documents at any OceanBank transaction points.

Should your identification documents expire or should you fail to submit updated documents by the stipulated deadlines, OceanBank reserves the right to suspend your transactions until the valid identification documents have been submitted in compliance with regulations.
