Notice of updating biometric data on Easy OceanBank Mobile application

OceanBank has developed a feature to collect biometric data of Customers and compare them with the data stored in the chip ID card via Easy OceanBank Mobile application. This is also an important step to prepare for the implementation of biometric authentication measures for digital transactions, as required by Decision 2345/QD-NHNN of State Bank. Accordingly, from October 8, 2024, Customers can update information via the "Biometric Collection" feature in the Settings menu on Easy OceanBank Mobile app or go to the transaction counter to provide biometric information. At the same time, for opening a payment account using the EKYC method, OceanBank also adds new feature to match the collected biometric information with the data stored in the chip ID card.

It is expected that from January 1, 2025, OceanBank will use the biometric data customers have registered as the basis for authentication when performing certain transactions on Easy OceanBank Mobile.

Specifically, Customers are required to authenticate face biometrics for certain online transactions according to the regulations of the State Bank as follows:

• Money transfer transactions over 10 million VND/transaction; Cumulative money transfer over 20 million VND/day;

• Payment transactions over 100 million VND (over 1 transaction or per day);

• First transaction on Easy OceanBank Mobile application

• Switching phone devices to use Easy OceanBank Mobile application

Instructions for updating biometric information:

Method 1: Update on Easy OceanBank Mobile application, customer must:

• Have chip-embedded ID card

• Update the latest version of the Easy OceanBank Mobile application

• Have NFC support - mobile phone
